Bloody Berry – bloody-colored, berry-flavored, fresh-tasting and simply bloody good!

This bloody-colored, berry-tasting cocktail will entice your senses and awaken your taste buds in every way.   This was meant to be my Valentine’s special drink but I failed to photograph it properly and post it on the blog on time.  Oh well, it’s never too late to share a good cocktail recipe, plus it’s right around happy hour on a Friday.

We’ve had it a few times before, on, and after Valentine’s day.  It’s bold and super refreshing, and it smells fantastic.  I got the sweetest, most delicious blood oranges from the farmer’s market that tasted almost like raspberries.  Right away I thought of pairing the two in a smoothie.  Then I had another idea – how about blood orange juice, raspberries and raspberry vodka – meet the Bloody Berry!

Since raspberries are out of season, you can make it with frozen raspberries, and you can skip the ice, as they act like ice cubes.  You can strain the seeds and pulp out if you’d like.  I personally like it thick – like a boozy smoothie.  It’s bloody good!

Happy Friday everyone!
